One dead, another injured in Fort Dodge murder; suspect at-large

Fort Dodge, IA – A Fort Dodge teen has a warrant for his arrest after a murder in Fort Dodge Tuesday night.

17-year-old Davonquae Jyshon Pettigrew is wanted on the charge of murder in the first degree after an incident took place in the area of the 100 block of N 10th street in Fort Dodge.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an unresponsive male on the sidewalk in front of 126 N 10th St. Officers began life‐saving efforts on the male before medics arrived, but the male was ultimately pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as 18‐year‐old Patrick Walker of Fort Dodge. Officers were notified of an additional male that had arrived at Unity Point Trinity Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound. The identity of the victim is 20‐year‐old Silas Hall. Hall’s gunshot wound is not believed to be life threatening.

The charge for Pettigrew is a forcible felony which results in the 17-year-old being charged as an adult. Pettigrew is described as 5’8” tall and weighing 130 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Pettigrew, they are encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.
