Humboldt County will be taking part in the 2019 Iowa 99 County Bible Reading Marathon, inviting people to read 30 minute or more segments of the Bible on September 8th thru September 11th at the Humboldt County Courthouse lawn starting at 8:00 am. The Compassionate Friends Chapter of Fort Dodge is proud to sponsor an “Angel Across the USA” event on Monday, September 16th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. This event features Alan Pederson, and award winning recording artist and speaker whose mission is to bring hope and healing those who have suffered the loss of a child or loved one. Admission is free.
The Humboldt Area Art Council is having a Trivia Night on Wednesday, September 25th from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at The Masonic Lodge in downtown Humboldt. There can be 6 to 8 people per team at a cost of $20 per person. Snacks will be provided and beer and wine is available for purchase. The Grand Prize is a Dream Carriage Ride donated by Jim Kellner with prizes awarded for bonus rounds and a silent auction. Come out and join the fun!

Humboldt County Pheasants Forever will have their annual Youth Day on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Mike and Angie Vitzthum residence located at 2460 220th Street in Humboldt. Participants will receive a free meal. Events include BB Gun Shoot, trap shoot, archery, bird hunt, trapping and bird cleaning.
St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus will have their annual Omelet Breakfast on Sunday, October 20th from 9 am to 12:15 pm in the church hall.
The menu will include Omelets, hash browns, rolls and drink. Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under.
The Humboldt Area Arts Council is hosting a one day shopping experience at the Humboldt Arts Center on Sumner Avenue on Thursday, November 7th from noon to 8:00 pm. The Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Men’s Group will be hosting their annual Chili & Oyster Stew Soup Supper on Friday, November 8th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for ages 12 and under. Children under 3 eat free.
The 60th Annual Holiday Craft Fair in Eagle Grove will be on Saturday, November 23rd from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Robert Blue Middle School 1015 NW 2nd in Eagle Grove. This event is sponsored by the Eagle Grove Chamber of Commerce and their shop will also be opened from 8 am to 4 pm. Make a day of it and visit Holiday Boutique by Sue White at the Senior Citizen’s Center at 310 Broadway and the Fall Vendor & Craft Fair at 220 Railroad Avenue.
