HUMOTA Fundraiser Event A Day of Fun for the Whole Family!

Humota’s Family Fun Day Fundraiser will be Saturday, August 20th at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds.   Family fun activities from 2-7pm see below for the list of activities, Bags Tournament at 3pm registration fee $20 and must register by 2pm.  Live music by Cory Waller & The Wicked things from 8-11pm Tickets available at the Humota Theater $10 in advance $15 at the door.   21+ drinks available.

Gilmore City Fun Days

 It is the annual Gilmore City Fun Days Aug. 26-28th. Friday night features Pocahontas County Cattleman’s and Burrito Mexpress Food Trucks, Fire & Ambulance Beer Tent (CASH ONLY), Kids Foam Machine, ON Stage: The Shimon Family Band starting at 7pm..   On Saturday come on over for City wide garage sales starting at 8am, 5K Run/Walk registration at 8am, Library Story walk at Gazebo 9am and the Parade starting at 11am. Then there will be lunch at the Fire station, Magic Show on the stage, Bags tournament, Kids Water barrel fight, Bounce House, 1881 Café will have Saturday Meal 5-8pm, and Eli Alger Band taking the stage at 8pm. Sunday there will be the Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast from 8am to 12pm. Make sure to catch the Ecumenical church service at 10:30 at the Gazebo. All this going on this weekend Aug. 26th – 28th at the Gilmore City Fun Days.

5K Run /Walk & Relay For Life Event
Aug 27 @ 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Register now for the 5K run or walk Relay for Life event to take place on August 27th at Taft Park. Call Tina Coleman at 515-341-3564 to register for only $30 which includes a free t-shirt. You can also get a team together for the Kick ball tournament and registration for that is only $50 per team by contacting Jami Jo at 402-875-3487. The day’s events will be registration is a 2pm with the race starting at 3pm followed by Kick ball tournament at 4 pm with kid’s games, bouncy houses and face painting and the Relay for Life Supper begins at 5pm. With Survivor recognition at 5:30pm.

Childrens Cancer Awareness Night Football Game
Sep 16 @ 4:45 pm – 9:30 pm

Friday, September 16 the Humboldt High School will be sponsoring a “Childhood Cancer Awareness Night” as we host Boone in football.  The 9th grade game kicks off at 4:45 PM and the Varsity game starts at 7:30 PM,   All proceeds will be donated to  the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.  Some of the opportunities to donate are:

1) $1.00 Raffle Ticket sales – 5 participants will be drawn to try a field goal kick at half time of the Varsity game.  Prizes will be available to choose from if the kick is successful.

2) Silent Auction will be held the night of the game for a quilt.

3) Pass the donation bucket at end of the 3rd quarter of the varsity game on Sept. 16th

4) T-shirt order form are available at:

Badger Public Library Book Fair

The Badger Public Library is hosting 22 Midwest authors at the Badger Book Fair on Saturday, September 17th at the library.  It’s the same day as Badger’s city-wide garage sale, so stop by and check out their books.  Doors open at 8am.

 

Humboldt Co. Historical Museum Fall Festival

Fall Festival! Saturday September 17th from 12pm – 4pm at the Humboldt County Historical Museum.  Admission for adults over 18 is $10, 18 and under are FREE.  Step back in time to the prairie days of the county with the Fall Festival! Faith United Methodist Church, ANNUAL TURKEY DINNER

Faith United Methodist Church will be hosting their Annual Turkey Dinner on Wednesday, September 21 from 5 – 7 pm in Morehouse Hall for Dining In and Carry Out from 4:40 – 6:30pm.  They will be featuring two carry out lines for quicker service.  The menu will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, jell-o salad, rolls, homemade pie and a drink.

Tickets are $12 for everyone 11 and above, $5 for children 5-10yrs old, and children under the age of 4 will eat free of charge.  Tickets may be purchased at Faith United Methodist Church Office, Hy-Vee, and V & S Variety.  Home delivery is also available by calling the church office at 332-2083 before Sept. 20th.  Ticket sales start on Sept. 1st.

LuVerne Firemen’s Annual Fall Supper

American Legion Post 415, “Support our Veterans Ride”

American Legion Post 415 of Livermore is hosting a “Veterans Ride” October 8th, sign up will be 10:00-11:00am with a Fee of $25 per bike/vehicle.  The ride will leave Livermore at 11:15am and ride to the following places:  VFW – Dakota City, Rails – Eagle Grove, Blue Moose – Renwick, American Legion – Corwith, Flipside & Handlebar – LuVerne then return around 5:30pm for a meal and entertainment by Jeremy Ober from 7-9pm.  For ride info contact Sue Fevold 515-368-0248,  If you are unable to attend and would like to donate, Venmo Christy Decker @Christy-Decker-23, 100% of sign in fees goes back to Veterans.
