Humboldt Community Chorus Presents “One in Harmony” on Friday, Feb. 10th at 7pm, Sat. Next Generation Farmers – Sessions
Feb 21 @ 6:00 pm – Mar 7 @ 8:00 pm

Mark your calendars for Feb 21, 28th and March 7th for the Humboldt County Extension Office for Next Generation Farmers Sessions. Each night is from 6pm-8pm.

On the 21st, Learn about Finances, Cash flow, breakeven, crop insurance, net worth and borrowing.

On the 28th it will be on Taxes, Social Security, Beginning farmer tax, Iowa tax credit, depreciation and FSA options

and then on March 7th the session will be Transition planning. Transfer of machinery, communication, family living expenses and crop share, rent contracts.

The Annual Warm the Heart Food Drive is a combined effort between Humboldt County Memorial Hospital and Humboldt County Public Health to stock the Humboldt County Food Pantry and they need your help! You can make a difference in someone’s life so let’s open our hearts on Wed, Feb. 22nd and help us Fill the Ambulance from 7am-3pm. Donations may be dropped off at the Humboldt County Public Health located between the HCMH Surgery Center and Springvale Assisted Living. . At HCMH, caring for our community means more than just providing high-quality patient care; it means helping others through kindness and generosity. If you are a local business and would like to schedule a pick-up or have questions, please call 332-2492. The more you open your heart to others, the more your life becomes joyful. Thank you for helping us fight hunger in Humboldt County.

NIGHT OF JAZZ

Come out for a “Night of Jazz” March 6th from 7-9pm at the Humboldt HS Auditorium.  The Wildcat Jazz band, Humboldt Jazz 2, Wildcat Vocal Jazz, Middle School Jazz Ensemble, Iowa Central Jazz Band and The outstanding 515 Big Band from Ford Dodge will perform.  Free will donations, will go toward the music trip to New Orleans.  Come enjoy the evening.

Humboldt Music Boosters Soup and Song Concert will be Thurs. March 9th, 2023.   They will be serving chicken noodle and Chili, dinner roll, desserts, and a drink for a free will donation.  This will be at the high school cafeteria, with a concert to follow, meal begins at 5pm concert starts at 7pm.

Meals From the Heartland

The 11th Annual Meals from the Heartland Event in Humboldt County will be held on Friday, March 17th for Students, and Saturday, March 18th for the community there will be 3 shifts 1) 8-9:30am, 2) 9:30-11:00am, and 3) 11:00-12:30pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall.  One meal cost 25 cents so $1 will feed 4 hungry people!  Donations and volunteers are needed to package meals.  Please contact Allen Goche at 515-890-9116 or Jan Goche at 515-890-9117.

Webster County Chapter of Pheasants Forever 38th Annual Banquet

RENWICK FIRE DEPARTMENT FISH FRY FUNDRAISER

The Renwick Fire Department is hosting a fish fry fundraiser on Saturday, March 18th (snow date Sunday March 19th) from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Renwick fire station.  They will be serving fish, chicken strips available upon request, fries, and coleslaw for a $10 recommended donation.  Proceeds will be going towards new equipment.  Carry-out will be available.
