Todd Becker Foundation – Algona High School

The Todd Becker Foundation, a nationally recognized high school assembly group, announced that they are bringing their presentation, “Hear the Story. Be Moved.” to Algona High School on April 3rd, 2024.  The event is free and open to the public.  The doors will open at 5:40pm and the event will start at 6:00pm.  The night will feature a live concert from the band “All the Noise”, followed by an impactful and life-changing message from Keith Becker.

About the Todd Becker Foundation:  Started in Kearney, NE, the Todd Becker Foundation was created in the spring of 2005 following the tragic death of 18-year old High School student, Todd Becker, in an alcohol-related car accident.  Keith, who was the older brother of Todd Becker, unfolds the true, and life-changing story of his younger brother’s untimely death and the events shortly thereafter that changed his own life.  Since 2005, the Todd Becker Foundation’s assembly and outreach program has reached close to 100,000 students in over 500 high schools across the nation.

Humboldt-Dakota City Kiwanis Annual EASTER EGG HUNT

The Annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday March 30th at 10am at the Humboldt High School Football Field. The rain location will be the Humboldt Multipurpose training facility.  There will be three age categories:  Pre-school(parents may assist), Kindergarten and 1st graders, then 2nd & 3rd graders.  Participants in each age category will have a chance to win a large Easter basket with games and prizes and a free bicycle!  There will also be many free prizes from local merchants and lots of candy.  Come see the Easter Bunny and enjoy the egg hunt, courtesy of the Humboldt-Dakota City Kiwanis!

Badger Fire & Rescue Omelet Breakfast will be Sunday April 7th.  Serving will be from 8-11:30 am, in the Badger Fire Station, Tickets are Adults -$10 each and Kids under 10 eat for free!  Proceeds go to the purchase of new equipment.

Nestle Purina PetCare presents the 40th Anniversary Fur Ball benefiting the ALMOST HOME HUMANE SOCIETY of North Central Iowa on Saturday, April 13, 2024, hosted by the Fort Dodge Lincoln Toyota Dealership.  Doors open at 6pm and the event runs to 10pm,  Tickets may be purchased at:  Almost Home Humane Society or www.almosthomeiowa.org, The Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota Dealership, Mere Image Salon Hair Care and Esthetics, Candies and more, The Hy-Vee Fort Dodge & Humboldt Locations.   $20 in Advance, $25 at the door and $10 for guests under the age of 18
The event will be held at the Fort Dodge Lincoln Toyota Showroom, 2723 5th Ave South, Fort Dodge, IA 50501.  Dinner is from Amigos in Fort Dodge, Cash Bar, Live Entertainment- The Maurice Jules experience, Strolling Magic by Duffy Hudson, & K-9 Demonstration compliments of the Fort Dodge Police Dept., there will be a live auction as well as a silent auction with hard to find items like:  Tickets to see Taylor Swift in Vancouver, an Electric Guitar signed by all the members of the Rolling Stones, etc.

The Humboldt-Dakota City Kiwanis Roast Beef Dinner

The Annual Humboldt-Dakota City Kiwanis Club Roast Beef Dinner is Thursday April 18th from 4-7pm at the Zion Lutheran Church.  Dine-in or Drive-up will be offered. Tickets are $15 and are available from any Kiwanis member or at the door.  They will be serving Roast Beef Sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, and dessert.  The Kiwanis Club appreciates the continued Community Support, as the proceeds go towards the Children of our Community.
