Belmond, Iowa – The Humboldt Wildcats Girls Basketball team came out sluggish in the first quarter.

Trailing  11-2, Head Coach Rodd Mooney called a timeout at the 4:00 minute mark of the first quarter and from that point until the 3rd quarter the Wildcats essentially eviscerated the Belmond-Klemme Broncos.

Over the span of two quarters the Wildcats went a 40-13 run to capture their 15th win-3rd in a row-to close the 2016-17 regular season with a 57-43 bang.

Avery Terwilliger led a trio of double digit scorers with 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting and also drilling two threes.

Halie George had 15 points and 6 rebounds while senior Abby Zaugg notched a double-double recording 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cats will take Friday to rest up before opening up the Class 3A Regional Playoffs with a home-date against Hampton-Dumont. That game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and can be heard on the Bolt!
