Eagle Grove, Iowa — One person was killed as a result of a house fire in Eagle Grove, Monday night.
The name of the victim has not been released as of this time.
Eagle Grove fire chief Tom Peterson said the fire began shortly before 9:30 at 222 Commercial Avenue in Eagle Grove.
Eagle Grove and Goldfield fire teams raced out to the house shortly thereafter.
Peterson said flames engulfed the home as the fire department arrived.
Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire is believed to be caused by an electrical malfunction.
