Dakota City moves to put city owned home on the market

Dakota City, IA – The home currently owned by Dakota City will be hitting the market after direction given by the council.

During the most recent meeting of the City Council for Dakota City they instructed City Administrator Angelic Berry to place the home on the market. The house is located at 27 6th Street North.

As previously reported by KHBT the home was purchased by the city to help utilize their low to moderate income requirements through tax increment financing (TIF). A lot of work has been done to improve the house. This includes new flooring, appliances and redone cabinets. All work done on the house was with local contractors and businesses.

The instructions to Berry was to get the house on the market “as soon as possible.” The asking price will be $115,000 and those with interest are encouraged to contact Dakota City, City Hall at (515)332-3083.
