Humboldt County, IA – Possible minor injuries suspected after a minor overturns their vehicle attempting to avoid multiple deer Sunday night.

Deputy Michael Vinsand of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office files the report on the single car incident. His report states that on Sunday, Nov. 30, a minor from Humboldt was traveling along Georgia Avenue in the county. The driver came upon multiple deer that were in the roadway and swerved in an attempt to avoid striking the animals.

The result of the action caused their black Honda Element to enter the ditch on the east side of the road. The Element overturned twice before going to a stop on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver was able to climb out from the vehicle through the sun roof.

The incident resulted in severe damages to the Element that was towed away from the scene. Deputy Vinsand reports that minor injuries were suspected and the minor was transported privately for further evaluation.
