Humboldt, IA – There are few new faces serving the Humboldt County community at the dispatcher center.

During the monthly meeting of the Humboldt County Public Safety Commission, also referred to as the LEC Board, they approved the hiring of two new full-time dispatchers.

David Fokken was first on the agenda. He is a thirty year resident of Humboldt County. He previously worked for the local law enforcement for about 15 years until November of 1991. He has also worked as truck driver for over 20 years.

Kara Marsh is the second new dispatcher for the Humboldt Law Enforcement Center. Marsh is from Corwith but recently lived in the Iowa City area for school and work. She has worked in retail but says she was looking for something that would allow her to better serve the community.

Tim Terwilliger, who recently retired from full-time dispatching, was also on the agenda to be re-hired for part-time duties.

Following introductions by Fokken and March, all three hires were approved by the board as presented on the agenda.
