Dakota City, IA – Drainage District 7 Sub 2 is being adjusted again a week after the reclassification hearing.

During the meeting of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on Monday, June 14, the board readdressed the reclassification of the district. A project was recently completed in this district and the reclassification and maintenance schedules were approved on June 7.

The drainage district is located north of Rutland on the west side of Hawaii Avenue and south of 180th Street. The initial reclassification and maintenance schedules had three parcels north of 180th St included in the district based on topographic maps.

However, further investigation and conversations with land owners in the area revealed that the parcels north of the road receive no benefit from the recently complete project. This is because there is now culvert in 180th St. The land drains west instead of south.

The supervisors motioned to remove the three parcels of land from the DD 7 Sub 2 maintenance schedule.
