ISU Extension and Outreach announces Chizek’s retirement

Mason, IA – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach regional director for region eight is going to be retiring after over two decades of service.

Extension and Outreach has announced the Jerry Chizek will be retiring. He has had a successful and lengthy career in multiple positions within the organization.

For more than 22 years he has served in the region. His first role was extension education director in Calhoun County. His most recent position was as the regional director for Pocahontas, Humboldt, Webster and Hamilton counties.

In 2018, Chizek was awarded the distinguished R.K. Bliss Extension Award. He also received the Epsilon Sigm Phi (ESP) Alpha Mu Chapter Mid-Career Award in 2015. He has served in leadership positions across multiple professional associations.

Chizek and his wife, Pam, continue to live in Mason and are looking forward to more time with their grandchildren. ISU Extension and Outreach congratulate Chizek on his retirement.
