Humboldt boys’ golf edges Algona in tiebreaker to win NCC traingular in Clarion

Clarion, IA – The Humboldt boys’ golf team won a triangular at Clarmond Country Club in Clarion in North Central Conference play with a tiebreaker Friday.

Humboldt has a team score of 154 and edged Algona, also with a team score of 154, with a tiebreaker down to a fifth golfer’s score. The host team, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, had a team score of 188.

Humboldt’s Cade Birdsell and Algona’s Nathan Manske each had the low score for the triangular, with a score of 36 in the nine-hole round.

The Humboldt boys’ golf team returns to the course on Saturday fo the Tornado Boys Tournament at Buena Vista Golf Course at Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake. Tee-off time for the tournament is at 9 a.m.
