Humboldt, IA – Organizers are gearing up for the big Fourth of July celebration in Humboldt in a little less than a month as the nation marks its 250th birthday.
A new feature for this year’s parade is a $500 prize for the most patriotic float. Organizer Doug Vinsand says participation is free and businesses, organizations, and community groups are encouraged to enter.
“We had 86 entries last year, which was great, but for this year, we’re shooting for well over 100.”
The Humboldt Fourth of July Parade begins at 7:00 p.m. on July 4 along its traditional Main Street route.
