Humboldt, IA -The Humboldt County Conservation Board have made a decision on how to move forward with the Reasoner Dam Project. At their January 19th meeting, the Board unanimously voted to move forward with option #2. Conservation Director Todd Lee says that Option #2 includes reducing the elevation of the dam crest and creating a rock ramp downstream of the dam. As previously reported by KHBT, Option # 2 has an estimated cost of 3.41 million dollars. The board chose against option #1, which had an estimated cost of 19 million dollars, which was the dredging of the dam and replacing the existing gate structure with a low level gate.

Lee will present the recommendation of Option #2 to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on Monday. KHBT will have full reactions and updates to this story on Monday as they are made available.
