Humboldt, IA – With the weather warmer than usual this winter so far, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in the county to check that house numbers are displayed clearly and correctly.
The agency says it is imperative that the proper house number is posted in a prominent location. In an emergency, having your house number displayed clearly can save first responders valuable time. Through their travels, emergency personnel say they have noticed many houses around the county that do no not have a house number at all.
The agency asks that if you live in the country, to make sure the red 911 address sign is posted at the end of the driveway. Red 911 address signs are for all farm residences, vacant acreages, or bin sites.
